I'm Jen and I'm the founder of Chalmers Right-Hand VA, based in Lancing, West Sussex. I love musicals, murder mysteries, films and having down time with my husband and our 7 nieces & nephews. (AKA niblings)

Professionally, I have a strong passion for organisation and problem-solving, so being a Virtual Assistant comes naturally to me. My background is in theatre/the arts, cinema, customer service and recruitment but overall, I have 15 years of administrative experience. 

The catalyst which led me to create this service however, was my sister. She runs her own business, as a musician, and I have watched her add hour after hour onto her working day, simply because she was not able to squeeze in her admin jobs within her standard working hours. With a husband, 2 children and a very active social life, a helping hand was needed to allow her more family time.

She inspired me to create a service which allowed creative individuals or businesses, like hers, an opportunity to simply gain more time and have some help - especially through busy periods or when everything seems to happen at once. I wanted to give people a chance to simply breathe or be able to be more productive in the areas that I'm sure were the reason they started a creative career in the first place. By having someone in their corner, doing the jobs they don't have time for but are necessary, they could make space in their life for more of what they want to do. Whether that is gaining more clients, finishing a project or simply having more 'me' time.
